Steward Concepts Leaves LPL Financial for Ameriprise

Steward Concepts, with $149 million in client assets, joins Ameriprise Financial in Rock Hill, S.C.

Ameriprise Financial Institutions Group announced it has added Steward Concepts to its advisor force.

Steward Concepts, composed of advisors Matt Griffin and Jason Driver and three client services associates, joined from LPL Financial. The firm is stationed in Family Trust Federal Credit Union in Rock Hill, S.C., and manages $149 million in client assets.

“When I started my search for a new broker/dealer, my priority was finding a firm that would be a good fit for my practice and Family Trust Credit Union,” said Griffin. “Ameriprise stood out among competitors because of the firm’s truly integrated technology platform that makes collaboration with clients easy.”

The ability to video chat, move money and execute trades—all within an Ameriprise-branded app—was another appeal, in addition to expanding the Steward Concepts services nationwide, Griffin added.

“The firm brings transparency and stability in the way they serve their partners through a sophisticated program that will help us elevate the experience for our members and, at the same time, reduce back-office costs,” said Susan McCarver, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Family Trust Federal Credit Union.

Ameriprise Financial Institutions Group, a division that provides on-site investment services at banks and credit unions, was created in 2017 after Ameriprise Financial acquired Investment Professionals.
