What did I do, Duke?  Or am I simply being a dolt and not getting the joke?

Feb 2, 2006 10:21 pm

BR, I was referring to your comment that no one has brought up an EDJ topic for a while -- I was afraid just by your saying that, that it'd be the kiss of death & they'd start up again!

One time.......at Band Camp.......I mean EDJ.........

just kidding.

I was wondering that myself.  As entertaining as it can be to read the arguments back-and-forth, it's pretty nice seeing some stimulating conversation.

I am not a headhunter, Mr. Butler. I don't peddle house mutual funds and/or variable annuities, either.

On the peanut gallery, I view these chat boards for amusement purposes in between trades and/or earnings' confie calls, that's all.

If you're the individual who asked if I persuaded those perfect 10's to jump ship out of pure altruism (you may have to explain that for the peanut gallery), the answer is no (not out of 100% pure altruism).

[/quote]

Obviously you have an agenda to hide, and you figure slurring everyone here with the "...house mutual funds and/or variable annuities" is an effective dodge. It isn't.

I'm told confession is good for the soul

Ahhhh, yum yum is obviously a NYC cab driver, what with the tradin' and confie calls and all ....perhaps a muffler shop manager in Jersey

Mike: I like the new signature, but I perhaps you can add, "If I say it louder, the stock will go higher!"

Feb 3, 2006 7:13 pm

Say what you will, but Jimmy does affect the stocks he touts.

You just have to take advantage of it in after hours trading (NASDAQ).

He effects them, but the problem is, just like most Wall Street analysts, when he tracks his performance, he uses as a “buy” price the price at the close BEFORE he mentions the stock. Good luck getting that price. If you track his performance fairly, that is a “buy” price of the next day’s open, his performance is much lower. Check out his webpage and you can see it in detail. Frankly, his numbers ain’t all that hot.

Mike, in the heyday of the day trader, his word was golden.  After all, if your average hold time of a stock was less than a day, who cares why it goes up?  It's the herd mentality at it's best (or worst, if you prefer).

Sadly for Cramer and his ilk, that day is past.  So, much like Suze Orman, if they were any good at managing money, that's what they'd be doing instead of jackin' their jaws for the unwashed masses that follow that type of financial pornography.  It's been a long, long time since I've heard from a client, "I was watching CNBC last night.  What do you know about a stock called '(fill in the blank with something ridiculous)'".

I wouldn't expect an annuity guy to get many calls like that. Cramer is to me a mixed bag, but there's no denying he has an enthusiastic following. Perhaps you don't get Cramer inspired calls, but I'm willing to bet other people here do.

Just to correct still one more of your numerous errata, annuities make up less than 15% of my business, so I'm hardly what could be called an "annuity guy".

It's an honest mistake on your part, as I know so much more about the product and it's use than you do.  To your bush-league mentality, that must mean that annuities are all that I use.

I think this the point where a lawyer would say you're "assuming facts not in evidence".....

Feb 6, 2006 3:21 pm

I can only go by what you've posted, an there is no evidence from your posts that you have even a rudimentary understanding of math, business, investments or politics.

So your posts are either an hoax, or you truly are posessed of limiterd intellectual capacity.

Take your pick.

I'd agree with you, Sonny.
