Welcome to Wells Fargo Advisors

On January 1, 2009, Wells Fargo & Company and Wachovia Corporation announced the completion of the merger, creating the new Wells Fargo & Company – a premier coast-to-coast financial services franchise. Wells Fargo Bank, N.A is one of the nation’s strongest banks and an American institution since 1852, earning its legendary reputation for strength and stability. With 6,653 retail bank branches in 39 states and the District of Columbia, the combined Wells Fargo/Wachovia branch network is the most extensive in the nation.

Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC is a non bank affiliate of Wells Fargo & Company. Wells Fargo Advisors is one of the nation’s largest full service retail brokerage firms, providing financial advisory, brokerage, asset management and other financial services through over 15,600 Financial Advisors in locations nationwide and 5,900 licensed financial specialists in retail stores*.

Our unique structure combines the capabilities of a large national firm with the best practices of several smaller, esteemed firms. Our culture of commitment to our Financial Advisors, and our respect for the unique relationship between our Financial Advisors and their clients, has its roots among great regional firms like Wheat First Securities in Richmond, VA, Butcher & Singer in Philadelphia, First Albany in Albany, NY and dozens of others.

We are the firm that is dedicated to helping you grow your business, whether through our Envision platform, our open architecture managed account platform or our competitive compensation plans.

At Wells Fargo Advisors, we give you a choice in how you do business with us. Whether through our traditional, retail brokerage Private Client Group, retail brokerage bank-based Bank Brokerage Group, independent Financial Network channel, or our Latin America channel, Wells Fargo Advisors offers Financial Advisors unparalleled choice in determining how to meet their personal and professional goals and how to best serve their clients.

As America’s second largest full service retail brokerage firm** and the third-largest provider of managed accounts (based on assets), Wells Fargo Advisors’ scale and resources allow us to offer a world-class platform of products and services with a distinctive FA-centric culture.

If so great why did it take so long to pay back TARP? When they said they didn’t need it in the first place
