The key word there is retire. Usually when you retire you don’t become employed again.

for a starting point either for two years then go to a serious firm.



I would start at morgan, merrill, ag edwards or raymond james. no

preference. Get in get something going then figure it out. There is no

perfect firm.

I may be mistaken, its been a long time since I was at Jones.  However, I recall that if a broker quit being a broker (retired from the business) and then later decided that retirement was boring and wanted to open up a dog grooming businesses or bookkeepping business (for example) they would forfet their LP.   As we know many successful brokers want to retire early (say age 55) and being the type A personalitlies entrepenurial (sp?) people that we are, can't just sit around clipping coupons. 

Check on that and let us know.  Enquiring minds and all.
