I was wondering if it would be possible to go Independent with SF. Does anyone have experience with the firm? Do they pay upfront cash or forgivable loans?
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks
NO indy channel. Yes they pay a 'competitive reg. upfront 50-75%
What happened to their indy channel?

I believe you are incorrect. If I’m not mistaken they own Century and provide clearing to them as well. Your SF traditional channel recruiter isn’t going to tell you about that because he won’t get paid to bring you into that channel.
well that explains that...my bad.
NO indy channel.
Century Securities is a leading Independent Broker Dealer and subsidiary of Stifel Financial, helping you to to help your clients pursue their goals.
Call Terry Frank, Managing Director , Century Securities- 314-342-2891. The indy chanel is there but certainly not our focus. I don't know a great deal about it other than seeing a few guys over the years that were winding down that wanted an easy way to go indy and retain their book. They have all of the same platforms etc, a little differenent technology. I really wouldn't know how to evaluate it compared to an LPL because I haven't spent any time doing any comparisons, not where my interest is. If you want to consider the Stifel side, find your nearest Branch Manager and start there. Send me a pm if you want to know whos nearby.I was wondering if it would be possible to go Independent with SF. Does anyone have experience with the firm? The century securities website is bad enough to make me uncomfortable with even looking into that option.
Yeah, its a joke. They had an announcement on there about an "upcoming" conference in 2006! Too bad for them. They could be making a killing right now with as much play as the Stifel name is getting. The century securities website is bad enough to make me uncomfortable with even looking into that option.
Can any of the old AGE guys give me an opinion on Stifel? Is the culture similar to the old AGE culture. Also does anyone know how Bagby is doing these days? Hope he choked on the money he got selling us.

Just like the old AGE, actually better in some respects…I haven’t looked back and wished I had moved sooner
Ron Kruszewski: CEO of Stifel Financial sent a letter to A.G. Edwards' brokers in June telling them to call him. Ron Kruszewski, chief executive of Stifel, sent a letter in June to all A.G. Edwards brokers, telling them to call him directly. He declined to say how many A.G. Edwards reps have joined Stifel, but he said he “got a lot of response on that letter.”Anyone have a ph. number for a SF recruiter in the Southeast? I need a plan B.
How is Stiefels technology? Is it similar to Broker Vision? This Smart station that WS rolled out is a piece or crap!!!
I didn’t get a letter, I am legacy WS. I need a phone number!!!

Either one of these guys will talk to you.I am an ex-AGE guy who moved to Stifel in early January. The technology seems similar to what we had at AGE/Wachovia when I left with a few upgrades. Unfortunately, no Brokervision or ability to make notes on the system. I am completely dumbfounded how all these firms seem to ignore the contact management side of the operations. To me, it is the only way to keep yourself organized. Like many of the ex-AGE guys, I was a Brokervision addict and always had a full notepad on my clients.

The pipeline of prospects looking at the regionals is exploding. I jumped in December and the landscape has changed even since then I believe.
