The brokers get a salary plus the most confusing bonus / incentive plan you have ever seen.  Once you have figured it out, management will change it on you.

Salaries are in the $45-$75k range depending if you work out in the sticks or in a big city.  The Schwab brokers who I knew were taking home over a 6 figure but have since left to either go to a wirehouse or Indy.
