Anybody know much about the new fund they are coming out with - “International Growth & Income”?  Not sure how it would differ from Capital World Growth & Income, other than maybe being EX-USA?  Just a pure international play.

I saw that but was too busy checking on fed insurance on their cash mgmt trust. Capital Income Builder rolled out right before the crash in 87. Good times…

“International Growth” right now is an oxymoron.

That's my assumption...a large-cap foreign value fund.  Not exactly where I'd put money today, given the mess in Europe's banking system.  I've been moving away from the global funds there anyway, as I think less foreign exposure is probably a good idea in a rising dollar environment.

Was reading the blurb sheet on it yesterday. It’s 90% international whereas CWGIX is global. One thing they didn’t clarify was how much overlap there is with CWGIX.

They cited the increasing number of foreign companies that have continued to raise dividends while US companies have been cutting them as somewhat of the reason behind launching the fund.

Of course there is overlap! It’s American Funds, my guess is you can expect 40-65% overlap on the low end.
