Anyone hear about Morgan Stanley layoffs today of all non producing managers with branches under 7 million in prod??

Apr 26, 2006 9:29 pm

I heard that 20-25 mgrs in NY were cut.  No idea.

A Few BOMs were cut from larger offices in Denver & in Texas. The reason I heard is that they are

getting rid of managers with a poor track record

or recruiting and retaining.

Not one to hold a grudge; there is one manager in one of the Dallas offices of M.S. that would make me smile if he got the ax. He stole $48K from me.

If I don"t get you Karma will.

MS manager in Dallas?  Do tell

Florida also saw blood yesterday.  Alot of under 7mm, but also some huge branches...

Just the beginning Boys…fasten your seatbelts, a lot of turbulence ahead.

we were told at least in FL, we are done.

Apr 28, 2006 5:40 pm

I thought they said, "we are going with the team on the field",several months ago. They were not finishied then and they are not finished now.

That statement was made referring to brokers, not management. All of the recent changes have been made to retail management, not the sales force.

The area director in Denver got the ax and he so deserved it!!!

Right, until the imaginary deadline that's already passed at least four times

Lots more overhead changes to come.  There will be no more broker layoffs this year.  Maybe some comp. changes or an increase in the “penalty box” towards the end of '06.  That’s my best guess.

Sorry Fritz, but you insulting my intelligence (and misspelling that word in the process) because I don't take seriously a "cut" deadline that's been predicted and failed to happen at least four times, and being unable to post it properly after several attempts, well, that may be the funniest thing I’ve read lately.

Thanks for the chuckle…..
