Check.

Already completed.

In fact, the top A client list is done with name, address, personal contact information along with account numbers, and service request information in excel spreadsheet format for my assistant who will be in place two weeks ahead of my launch date.

Good luck and keep us posted.  I’ll be behind you a month or so, waiting on the build out.   You’re making the right decision for your business.

against protocal to take account numbers. Does anyone know of AGE suing a

departing broker for not acting in AGEs best interest while still employed

(pre soliciting clients) or taking account #'s or files.

thanks.

producing relationships in my book were coming I obviously would not

Spend the next couple weeks conversing with your clients... Give them an EXTRA amount of service and convey to them how appreciative you are of their business and how much you value their relationship. Call them to provide an update on the state of the markets. Send them a thank you card for their "commitment to ensuring their financial future" by working with you...

Just increase the amount of touches until Jump Date and then hit the ground running...

Don't forget to get a flash drive and save ALL of the files and docs that you have amassed over the last 5 years.  Also save all of your email addresses, contacts, etc by exporting from outlook...

And GOOD LUCK!

This is a great idea.  With so much going on, it's easy to loose sight of what is the most important thing right now...emphasizing the relationship.  I'm doing a little of this right now, I need to be (will be) doing more.  Thanks blam.

I forgot to use a flash drive (not that much of a tekki) but the ol' copy & paste to the "D" drive disk worked beautifully.  Also syncing my PDA with Outlook is a lifesaver. Fortunately I've been using Outlook for sometimes now as a client mangement tool, can you imagine what was in there...notes, important dates, maturities, next appointments, client id's, work/home/cell phone numbers etc....

thanks to all for your good ideas!

Now that will get you a restraining order. Had it happen to one of the FA that joined us. He was forced to turn over everything he had taken, plus they impounded his home PC. Got to sit around for 45 days and wasn't allowed to call his clients. They could call him. Firm(branch) fined 60K + costs.

Probably ran his mouth to someone at the old firm (that good buddy down the hall)…

Silence is the key.  Only run your mouth in an internet chat room where everyone is annoymous unless you're a child predator or stealing music files

Or someone from AGE mangement checks everyone that resigns to go indy in the next few weeks.

Don't think they won't go after RR to get your IP address. And RR will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat.

I'd second the motion to be very careful.  Mgt may or may not know about this place, but I'm sure they view all the information you are talking about as company property and if they get a clue that you might have taken it (and the company techno-geek may be able to do some amazing investigative work on your old company computer), they can potentially make your life miserable...be very careful...both here and at the office...

I wish you well...I've been in your shoes and it's a nervous time...
