BlahBlahBlah,

Well said.......................................
player, why are you wasting so much energy on your jones-bashing? are you a former jones employee? it sure seems kind of strange that you would spend so much effort bashing jones. and, everyone knows that the whole revenue sharing deal was completely legal, and was just a "stick up" by some grandstanding attorney generals. i always discuss fees and commissions to my clients who find it very refreshing. the only people i have ever met who don't like jones are losers who couldn't make it. hawg
hawg,

Securities regulation comprehension has never been a required trait at your firm.  The $75 Million payment your firm made to the SEC was for failure to disclose the "legal" revenue sharing program that your firm had your "preferred vendors".

So if everything was so legal, why does you firm as part of the settlement must allow ALL of your clients to "free exchange" out of the preferred vendors to funds of their choice??? ..... hmmmmmm.

Even "grandstanding" Attorney Generals  must have evidence to present to courts in order to "encourage" financial settlements not to mention to get the managing general partner to resign.

So hawg when you deal with your customers how do you explain the "revenue sharing" program with the preferred vendors? Yeah we get extra money from these companies to encourage usage of their under-performing funds and then we get to go on junkets which are partially payed with these shared revenues?  Now how does that relate to "always doing what's right for the customer" mantra that your firm uses?????

hawg,

Could you please share with us how you disclosed revenue sharing fees with clients before you knew what they were.

Like most of the "believers" at Jones you need to start thinking before you confidently repeat the company line.

I love the losers who couldn't make it line.  No matter what, you guys always have the answer.

Please "refresh" yourself with another cool glass of Jones Kool-Aid.

Here's a little taste of why those of us who are no longer at Jones have so much animosity.  Here is part of a "wire"(sort of like an email) that went out to a region recently(today),

"We've all heard it time and again - things are DIFFERENT here at Jones.  If you haven't been elsewhere, that's often hard to understand.  But it is CRITICAL that you BELIEVE it. (After all, where outside of used car lots and fishing boats, could you ever hope to assemble that many "liars?") This firm is AWASH in good people...."

Just a sample of the arrogance at Jones.  This is how it was typed in the wire caps and all.

This should put into some context the recent fine and resignation(s) for non disclosure of innapropriate kickbacks.

Bob, I missed that wire. You would not be S T R E T C H I N G  it a bit for attention now would ya?

Jul 23, 2005 2:25 am

as long as i’ve been in the businees, my competitors have been continually getting fined and getting bad press. i may have transferred a few accounts because of it. although i doubt it. it’s our turn now; we got held up by the slimeball litigators looking for political gain. i’ve always know what revenue sharing is, i read the prospectuses. my grocery store revenue shares everyday, paying to put the frosted mini wheats at eye level, and lots of other businesses do also. i don’t see the disclosures there. the reason we are hated so much on this forum is because we are either transferring to many accounts from you non-jones brokers, or you’re disgruntled ex jones people that couldn’t make it. we are not the only ethical brokers out there, i’m sure there are lots of reps at other firms who have good intentions, i just think my firm puts more of an emphasis on it than most. doug hill fell on a grenade for us. that’s all.

Jul 23, 2005 2:42 am

hawg, how do you come to the conclusion that your firm puts more emphasis on truth, honor and the American way?  It’s specifically that brand of arrogance that offends many.  Stated simply, it’s not true.

hawg,

unlike me you seem like a reasonable guy.  but this whole falling on the sword/grenade thing just makes you jones guys look more like cult members following the spiritual leader.  the guy lied. paid the price. end of story.

I think Hawg’s head fell on a grenade

player, if you say you were a top producer at jones, i guess i believe you. but, all these freaky cult like jones haters weren’t. but if you were and are such a huge producer why once again continually bash them. the best revenge is to live a good life. yours truly, hawg breath

Stated simply, it’s not true.
starka, i guess i have come to that conclusion by experience. most of the underhanded crap i have had to bale poor client’s portfolios out of has come from, merrill, morgan, my local bank, and advisers who use religon as a way to lure clients. my firm does always tell us to put the client first. i believe AGE does also. my arrogance goes further. i believe if you sell B share funds, equity indexed annuities, viatical settlements, church bonds, that one is either unethical, or incompetent. i’m opionated.

Add to that uneducated, ignorant, and delusional...  Oh yeah, sloppy too, open a dictionary if you can't spell "opinionated"... I'm sure your clients just love that attention to detail...

Jul 31, 2005 3:09 am

blahblahblah, thank you for the correction. ignorant, and delusional sometimes, uneducated, hardly. although spelling has not always been my strongest suit.

Jul 31, 2005 2:52 pm

Hawg wrote "uneducated, hardly."

What type of quality education says that spelling doesn't count?
player- The survey was in SmartMoney that the topic was started about not JD Power. If you could read rather than putting emoticons on everything you type perhaps you could figure it out. Explain this to me, how is Jones able to rig all of these surveys so that they come out on top? I'll give my 100K if you will just give an answer and stop blaming Mr Hill for everything on the planet.....
Jones wins because they ask current employees and Jones' employee are far more enthusiastic about their firm than other brokers.  I'm guessing that like myself, most brokers view their BD as a tool and not the master brainwashing them into a frenzy.

That's my theory because I can tell you from experience that Jones sucks and lies to their brokers...they just don't know it...YET!

hawgbreath,

It is not the IR's  and BOA's that have to cover-up for the GP'sfraud, it's the FACTthey are still in denial, what is up with that?

Doesn't the TRUTH set you FREE......

When Edward Jones Drones  and Clones come on here stating how great their Firm is, how they won the JD Power Award again, it makes me sick....their arrogance and denial !

I have yet to hear one Jones IR come on here and state what the Firm did was wrong and they should appoligize to their clients?  They just keep coming on here drinking their Kool Aid spouting how much better they are then everybody, what say you?

Based on how everbody on here has blasted you, it looks like they mostly agree with the PLAYER

By the way everytime I run into a Jones client, if I want them I take them........I have made far more since leaving...once Jones levels with their clients, and starts being the Firm they where 10 years ago, I will stop posting on here, and that is a promise.
