He made some poor decisions, but he's an MIT engineer and a Harvard MBA.
Big whoop. Are you aware that most of the mess we're in today was CREATED by Harvard and Wharton MBAs? Where you go to school means zero in the real world. Bottom line is what counts. These guys all screwed up royally and now have to pay the price. Someone has to go down period. Might as well be Thain. But don't feel too bad. I highly doubt he's going to jail and he's still a multi-millionaire. I always get a kick out of when someone defends a guy like Thain. Why defend him? He couldn't care less about you.

Funny, that's usually what people say when they are sitting on a high school diploma or an online degree. I agree it was the most intelligent people that created a lot of these problems, but we all played a role. We fueled the housing boom by believing real estate was a risk free investment, and that it was the American Dream to be a home owner. People wanted to believe they deserved that big home, maybe even 2 or 3 homes, a new car, consistently great returns on their stock portfolios, etc.. The sense of entitlement ran deep and wide.

Bush was a legacy, otherwise his 1206 SAT score wasn't getting him anywhere near the Ivy League. I can't defend the office furnishings, but the bottom line is BOA needed a fall guy and Thain was their man. The media is having a lot of fun bashing him and unfortunately your average person is buying into this sensationalism.
What was your SAT score? In what year? Put up or shut up.
How is this relevant? Maybe it's higher than yours? So what? Do you have to always start crying every time someone criticizes Bush?
My point was that when GWB took the SAT 1260 was a pretty strong score.
