your clients still see the same commercials on cnbc that my clients do. This is my gripe.

I hate any company that degrades what i do for a living and it  pisses me off.  By the way, all financial institutions are your competing for your clients.
Again, if your "clients" see those ads and they are reminded of you,  you should reconsider your business plan / process / approach.  Truly - those ads hurt when we wre all stock jockeys in 1998 (and they were true).  If you haven't developed since then - maybe YOU are degrading the industry.  Sorry to come after you hard but - somebody needs to tell you the truth.
The truth is you do not know what the **** you are talking about. Honestly.
huh?

Or much less. I think I knew that within 10 days.

Owning C shares just so you can tell your clients is stupid. Letting them know that one of the perks to working in the business is you get a discount isn't so bad. If they all want to own American funds at Nav.. They need to get a series 7 too.    Personally I don't tell my clients anything about my holdings.. My risk tolerance may be very different than what they can handle.. So it is just good business to keep that information out of the equation.. That plus my firm doesn't allow it.. !! Ha Ha   Miss J

You can also have a series 6.. But I wouldn't say that to my client since I hold a Series 7 not a 6..  They could also have 1,000,000 with American and get it at Nav but may have a CDSC.  They could also be related to one of the people mentioned above and also have the Sales charge waived..  I am fully versed.. But thanks for asking.   I do not tell my client what I hold and I believe FS would agree with me.. But Broker if you are indeed successful and you tell your clients what you hold.. that is your right to run your branch the way you deem best.  Now go be profitable and don't worry to much on my two cents..

back to the original thought.

I am glad that etrade is hurting and hope they go out of business. Their have much more mortgage exposer  than people are aware of. they have 10 billion in heloc's alone. They do not have the capital of MS, MER, BSC ect. to survive this. I heard they are shopping the company around. Remember their slogan. "it only takes one finger to get rid of your overpriced broker"

I’ve got a finger for them.
