Edward Jones #1

I have come to spread the gospel of Jones.
We are #1 in number of offices
We are #5 in number of brokers
We are #3 in number of employees
Edward Jones Ranked No. 2 by FORTUNE Magazine in its 10th Year
On Best Companies to Work For List
For the 16th consecutive year, Edward Jones ranked No. 1 in Registered Rep. magazine’s annual survey of the nation’s eight largest financial services firms.
EAT THAT INDY PAUPERS! You will no longer get a free pass to tramp over our fine name. I am here to WEDDLE YOU!!!
This would have been great fighting words if it didn’t look like someone was trying to start a fight. LA Broker, is that you?
Explain to me how giving you FACTS about Edward Jones is picking a fight? You have conjecture I have numbers. Eat that INDY boy.
Excuse me … exactly how are you comparing a company with independents?
I mean, if I’m an indy … then by definition I don’t want to be part of 12000 employees. I’m at a loss. What are you trying to prove? That Jones is better than Merrill Lynch or MSSB? That’s an argument.

He’s got a point Weddle
I’ve not compared Edward Jones, the #1 company to work for, to a crappy Indy office with no assistant, bad furniture, and a dank smell.
That’s like comparing the US Navy to somali pirates. Sure, the somali pirates make a living but when you want firepower you know where to go.
I simply will not stand by as INDY clowns trounce on Ted Jones and the company he built. You are on notice.
But what if I want to do managed futures? Or something as risky and complicated as protect my positions with options? Or heaven forbid, offer a client more than 45 mutual funds (funds not families) in a wrap program? Is Edward Jones still the best?
LOL...that was my thought exactly!Old Fess!
On notice. Thanks.
Is this Wind’s latest incarnation?

You are smart enough to do all of this and follow more than 45 mutual funds by yourself? Don’t think so!
The Edward Jone’s model is perfect for 99% of the population … Buy & Hold works for the VAST majority of the investing class, not your smoke and mirrors. Edward Jones is in a class alone.
Being that the vast majority of the wealth in this country is concentrated in the top 1%, I will go after them. You can deal with the $6k rollovers all day long. More power to you.[quote=Jebediah]But what if I want to do managed futures? Or something as risky and complicated as protect my positions with options? Keep showing “Louie the Loser” and “If you miss the 10 best days…” to your clients. Edward Jones is in a class alone. Not by choice.
We each have our business models. Follow yours and shut your mouth about ours. We could be a nice little 2 person firm like yours but we prefer to have 10,000 offices. In 30 years when the name on your sign will be different and gone … Edward Jones will be there. As always. The best in the business.
Let me see if I have this straight. You can speak about other companies, however others need to shut up about yours? Most Jones reps have a Napoleon complex for good reason. If you were secure in your company (among other things), it would go without saying. Nice try though. We each have our business models. Follow yours and shut your mouth about ours. Shall we use a sports analogy?
There are THOUSANDS of high school basketball players that are mediocre at best. There are maybe a couple hundred that make it to the pros.
Are you one of the thousands trying to get to the big league? Hey, kind of like a free agent.
I love freedom and independence.

The guy’s got a size issue. Give him a break … I mean a lot of guys don’t take showers at the gym.

I'll never forget a statement a Jones vet made to me at a due dilligence trip a while back. He said, Jones is a good company, but as long as you're here, you'll always feel like you're playing for the Junior Varsity. I remember thinking that he had just nailed exactly what I had felt since day one.[quote=Weddle Me]We each have our business models. Follow yours and shut your mouth about ours. Borker, pull your pants down and you’ll figure out you’ll always be in JV.
If we are the minors I’ll take it and make no excuses: "Edward Jones again was named the No. 1 full service brokerage firm in the August edition of SmartMoney
magazine. The firm placed ahead of six other firms and received high
marks in the four categories surveyed by the magazine: stock picking,
customer satisfaction, trust and customer statements. Edward Jones,
which also ranked No. 1 in 2005, received five-star ratings in client
statements and customer satisfaction. (August 2007)"
