I have been in sales for over 5 years, no financial background, and am interviewing for a Financial Specialist position at Wachovia.  Can someone please tell me the pros and cons of this position?  I heard they won't tell you what branch you will be in until after your training, true? Is the bonus potential really what they say it is?  Any info on the position would be very helpful.

Thank you!

Actually, the search was helpful.  I found some info that I hadn’t seen before.  My apologies.

Have you talked to anyone who currently works in that position?  Check the phone book or e-search.  Cold call another Wachovia office and ask if they have time to discuss the actual job with you. It may be helpful to call an office that is not in your immediate vicinity to avoid the possibility of someone downplaying the position to avoid competition.

Sounds like you know something...care to elaborate on the position? I am leaning against it, b/c I thought I would be sitting there dealing with oldheads who had problems with their accounts...

What do you know?

Hey quizzle.  Ever find out about that Wachovia job?

Not a bad gig…you do open checking accounts and write loans…but imagine getting paid $150.00 because some lady has 20k in a checking account 90 days after you open it.  Sell MF and annuities too. money is not bad…but you have to SERVICE what you SELL. Which may mean 75 yr old lady’s missing check out of her statement or listening to someone complain that they didn’t escrow enough taxes
