Where can I find information listing top producers in the investment/brokerage industry? If there is no such place available on the net, does anyone know which firms historically have the biggest producers? How do they do it? 401k Plans? Individual wealthy clients? Also what are the AUM?

A top 100 list is available through another publication.  PM me and I’ll get you the details.  (Probably the same list as Opie).

TO answer your other question, they tend to focus on large UHNW families and/or UHNW business owners (with the related boost of SMB institutional business).
