What the HELL is going on in this thread?
Far as I can tell, a new guy with EJ asked some success stories.  And there’s some other random stuff in there.

Good point…you new guys ought to memorize the 500-day war like it was the 23rd Psalm…that is some high-quality stuff.

Heck it's good for us old guys too...
Indy-

It's so simple, it beats the hell out of the 2 weeks of training in NJ I received from SB that reviewed presentations, products, and sales skills.  We devoted NO time to working on prospecting, phone scripts, etc.  as I remember.  I think we had one afternoon of cold calling.  And then we got to hit the ground running.

Yes, you need those skills too, but in order to give a presentation or overcome objections, you need to learn to prospect and get an appointment.  We could have spent a good 2-3 days alone on prospecting techniques and how to cold call, call/mail/call and so on.
Probably better would have been a week on learning product and presentation and a week on prospecting and sharpening fundamentals.
I think BondGuy said in one post his firm sent him to Bill Good training way back when.  That was time well spent.  I'm kicking myself because I didn't read Bill Good back in 2007 when I was doing all this b.s. in-branch training, dutifully following the "training in-branch outline" after passing my exams.  Like a moron.  I should have passed the exams, created my lists, read the books below, and then did the in-branch.  I guess I'm more than a little pissed off because I see it now as time I can never get back.

Having said that, I make it a point to impress upon new guys: Read this, this, and this.  (Being, Bill Good's books, and David Mullen).  Focus on the fundamentals and the rest falls into place.

Can we get back on topic? Who out there has had a positive relationship develop in the past couple weeks that could translate into some big business soon? I’m about to hit the horn in a few minutes and make some dials before tucking the kids in and could use some positive inspiration before smiling and dialing.

I had a positive relationship........with your mom. Oh the fun bags on that milf!
