What is it that is so funny exactly?

I’m 50.  I play soccer.  I’m a goalkeeper.  Do I get paid for it?  Well, it’s a very competitive sport, I’ve enjoyed playing for the last 35 years, and my son thinks it’s cool.  I’d say that’s pay enough.

And, workinhard, might I suggest you focus on the benefits of your personal service and “beside manner” when you pitch the 401(k) to your doctor.  I have quite a few docs as clients, and they don’t give a rat’s hiney about the fees.  They want service and NO headaches.

Good luck

Kens,

Thanks for the comments.  I do agree with you, and that was sort of going to be my opener to mention the plan itself, see how he is feeling about it.  Once I get a bit of a reputation built for myself, I think I have a great angle to play the retirement plan business.  In my previous posts when I first joined I mentioned by job right before I took this position was in Sales Consulting in Retirement Services for a large record keeper.    I have an understanding of what drives a price to be what it is, how cash flow and head counts affect plans, what levels of service different plans can expect, etc.  Compensation is just one of the factors.  I have tons of files with competitive information on Fidelity, ING, MassMutual, Great West, etc.   I'm hoping to leverage all of this when I speak with businesses, I think it will put me in a good spot.   And Kens, soccer is awesome, I agree.  I hope to be able to play again at some point, but well see...

I think what Volt is trying to say is you don't even have your license.

This is a funny thread.  Stick to drinking Capre Sun's and eating orange slices until you've done something.

hotair… so are you saying I should bother having a plan or thinking towards the future until I have my series 7?   God forbid I’m concerned about my job or looking for some input on how to handle a situation huh?

This just brings me back to my previous comments that if clients saw what some people post on this forum, they would probably be someone elses client.   However, I do like the orange slices reference... haven't had them in a while though.
