Series 66

Passed the 7 a few weeks ago with flying colors…getting ready to take the 66. Any tips? Any idea what portion of the questions come from the Uniform Securities Act? It seems like this test is much more difficult than the 7!
so how was the series 7? How much did you study? What study guide did you use? I will be taking the 7 @ the end of December, just working through options right now. Options are not bad, bonds were the more difficult ones to understand for me.
Primarily muni’s, underwriting and options. I used FIRE for a few weeks, figured out it was worthless, then picked up an old STC book in the office which was good enough for me to score an 87. I studied about 1/2 day, then went out and networked the other half, with a little studying and test taking at night. Don’t waste your money on FIRE Solutions!
Studied for two months, month read the book and than next month just practice test and the class and went and passed the 7
I took the Series 63 and 65 back before they came out with the 66. It is terribly boring material to study, but don’t underestimate it or you may fail.
I had a much easier time on the 7 than the 63, and the 66 has additional info above the 63.
Many new FAs work hard to pass the 7 but sleep on the 66 and barley pass it or worse. Study and you'll be fine.
Use the dearborn online testing material for the 66. I read the STC book and
used dearborne for the online tests. Read the book at least twice. If you do
that you are gonna manhandle the test.

[/quote]barley pass?
Is that similar to a wheat or soybean pass?
A question: Instead of sitting for the Series 66, why not sit for the series 65,
against the day that the broker might want to go fully independent via the
RIA venue?
