…The 20/20/20/40 rule should apply: 20% will answer, 20% of those will be a prospect who is qualified 20% of those will make an appt and 40% of those you should close. So for 94 dials, 18.8 should have answered, 3.76 should have been qualified, and 0.75 will set an appt and 0.30 of those will be a client…
Great post…that’s all I’m saying…if he’s only getting 7 to answer on a Saturday morning, he might want to rethink something…

Maybe the rodeo was in town, or a cattle auction or something important like that?

I’ve definitely got to change something. I made another round of calls this afternoon(from 5pm-6pm), with a little better answer rate, but not one appointment. I’m calling for portfolio reviews, maybe I need to change to something else.

On the answer rate, the only thing I suspect is that the caller ID shows "Metlife".  That's not how I identify myself if they answer, I use our firm name. I can call from my cell or from home, would that help?     Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Call using your personal cell phone.

This sounds stupid but buy a magic jack and use that just for cold calling.  I'm assuming you are not leaving messages and this will ensure your not getting hang ups on your cell phone.

If Metlife is on the caller ID then I think we found your problem. I would imagine everyone would ignore that call…except for people who really want to talk insurance…or talk to anyone.

not sure if that is good or bad.
