The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty
place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees
and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is
gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s
about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can
take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you
know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya
gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you
ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do
that and that ain’t you! --Rocky Balboa

The movie was on FX last night. I looked up this quote and deemed it ideal for new guys or gals in the biz. Good luck and keep pushing forward.

Because of George S. Patton… I keep a steam roller in my office.

" Use steamroller strategy; that is, make up your mind on course and direction of action, and stick to it. But in tactics, do not steamroller. Attack weakness. Hold them by the nose and kick them in the ass."   I also like this one and have it framed in my office.  It is cited from the movie Cars, but don't know that it's attributed to anyone.   "You are either part of the steamroller or you are part of the road!".

My first manager used to tell me that if I didn't have 12 appts per week that my "ass would be grass and he's the lawnmower"

I am sure he was mowing you in the ass, just not with a lawnmower.

It’s not your business what I did to get those accounts assigned to me when I was new, Ronald.  I did what I had to do and I’m comfortable with it…

This is the greatest movie nobody watches.   "A man don't walk on the lot lest he wants to buy. They're sitting out there waiting to give you their money. Are you going to take it? Are you man enough to take it?"
