Hey all,

I am very glad to have found this forum and all the knowledgable people contributing.  Currenly in the initial interviewing process for the Merrill Lynch PMD program.  I was just curious as to what kind of educational backgrounds do they hire?  Like Ivy league, MBAs, top 50 colleges, or just any avg Joe  with motivation and sales background?

I think they hire all of those, as long as the person can make a convincing case for their “natural market”. There’s a well rounded mix of ages and backgrounds. A 40 year old former cpa probably has a better chance than a 22 year old new ivy league graduate, but it also depends on the office. Someone might not get hired for the biggest office, but they will tell them to go apply in BFE because that is a better fit.

I don’t know, notnotmay. The 22 year old new Ivy League graduate will most likley be on a team and handed assets and PCs to make sure production hurdles are met. Must be nice to be sperm lucky.
