Thank-You to all of you for replying to my question. The answers appear diverse and honest…Now if I could just hear from the famous "spaceman Spiff " “Babbling looney”, “Spears” and others… Good luck and hang in there …My 2cents worth …I think we are coming out of the Bear market

I am still considering it. Yes sometimes I am to pragmatic, an admitted fault. A few years ago I spoke to a G.P an a R.L at Jones, maybe I should run it by them first. If they support me , like they did a few years ago, despite my      recent"issue" then I will go for it. Sound like a plan ?

Ice, what other companies do you like, as far as being an FA in these crazy times… ?

Thanks ice  . Good thinking. We do have a Morgan stanley looking for FA;s. Also nationwide, Farmers and State farm are getting into financials big…but they like to sell a lot of Vul’s, which I don’t like. I wonder if there are any independents for a new FA. One thing I like about EJ"s model is the 1 FA per office setup. I don’t like the cubicle setting…  and with EJ you can start out of your home. I already have a nice homeoffice setup.

If you are successful at selling Insurance and 47 a DUI should be a non event. You may want to talk with another firm or two or three. Dont let that get you down. If you made it in insurance sales you will make it as a FA. I agree with the previous posters that said the same. Let the negativity roll off like water. Good practice as a FA.

Yes, my regional leader also said that it is easier to get into Harvard than to get a job with Jones. Since I have heard this a number of times I think it must be cultural or coming from somewhere in leadership beyond just regional leaders. Its really the first thing that I have been embarrassed about at Jones. Frankly, it makes us sound uneducated. Yes it is true that more applications get rejected at Jones than at Harvard. However, the quality of the applicants at Harvard far far far far exceeds the quality of applicant at Jones. Sorry to burst the bubble. I just get embarrassed in front of my self when I hear such things.

prospect 1:

Does anyone know what Edward Jones hiring policy is on someone who has had a recent dui, otherwise clean record, excellent credit history, currently liscensed insurance agent, probably meets all other hiring criteria. If it automatically disqualifies me , no sense in going through the process and wasting both parties time not to mention my embarassment. I checked the search feature, nothing solid on this question. Thank you, and best of luck to everyone in these trying times!

as long as you let them know about it and explain all the when and where to compliance you can still get hired

[quote=wind3574]Considering i was told at our regional meeting on Thursday that it is easier to get into Harvard than Jones,

Tell me you do not believe this!  That is not strong cool aid but a dumb A!@*#  to buy it!
