Has anyone had any dealings with Granite Securities or Genworth Securities? I am thinking of changing but only want to change once.  Any thoughts on other indy b\d that I should look at would be helpful.

If you can swing the minimum production, look at LPL ($125,000) and Raymond James ($200,000).  Those two along with Commonwealth seemed to be the biggest and best in indyland from what I've understood.  Heard of Genworth, but that's all I know about them.

Aren't you with HDVest?  If so, I'm curious about what the downside is there, just for personal knowledge.  Not interested in making a switch, but I understand that they take care of smaller part-time producers, which might be helpful to some readers on these boards.

Full disclosure...I'm three months in with LPL and pretty pleased with what they have to offer, but like any broker/dealer, they are not perfect...just noticed that they are charging my retail brokerage clients a $5 confirmation fee for each trade...geeeeez...

I am with LPL and they give me what I need to compete with any wire house!

But if I had to do it again I would look at going the RIA route!
