I'm a soley an independent life insurance guy without a securities license.  Do I have the option of getting sponsored by an Independent B/D?  or do I have to be captive?  The only clients I have now are term and UL life clients.

You might check with this company Quest Capital: www.qcwelcome.com

They allow you conduct other businesses, while being registered with them. However, I'm not affiliated with them and I don't offer any opinion on them.

Conduct your due diligence, no matter the prospect B/D.

Good Luck!

Don’t alot of these independent BD only hire licensed reps with a min. production requirement?

Nope, not affiliated with them. I remember them only because I used to see their recruitment ad in the Investors Business Daily paper. They advertised for part-time reps, which I thought was very usual. Other than that, I don't know anything more about them.

It's funny, sometimes, the things I remember for no apparent reason.
