Hi, I am new to the forum but not really new to the business. All that is currently needed for my job is a series 7/63 but I like the idea of having a bunch of licenses so I am studying for the 79 and after that I am going to study for the 65.

On the FINRA website it says that the Series 66 (Agent and Advisor) takes the place of taking the Series 63 (Agent) and 66 (Advisor).  My question then is why is the Series 63 60 questions and 75 mins and the Series 65 130 questions and 180 minutes for a total of 190 questions for 255 minutes, while the Series 66 is only 100 questions for 150 minutes.

Why is 1/2 (the 65) longer then the whole (the 66)?

For one, the 66 is a corequisite to the 7.  Whereas the 65 can be standalone or even taken with the Series 6, which covers a lot less material than the 7.
