Has anyone else had any trouble getting new clients lately?  I've probably talked to 100 people in the past month and no one seems willing to abandon their current broker during these troubling times.  No matter what proposal or recommendations I'm providing everyone is not interested.  I don't think there's anything wrong with my presentation, and I'm convinced that our investment options are the best on the market.  What can I do to increase peoples willingness to become my client?

For those tracking my progress since I started, I've gotten 19 clients this year.  Only 3 since April.  And there is $623,119 of money I've moved over.  Hopefully I'm on pace to make six figures either this year or next, I'm sitting down with my senior partner next week to go over this quarters results and what I'm on pace for.  By September is when I'll be allowed to be paid on any commissions I close, for now my partner says the commissions are going to pay overhead which is customary for the industry, I'll presume.

Anyone else going through the same 1st year struggles?  How long should I expect to have to solicit people before they start soliciting me?

You’re on pace to fail. I’m not kidding.

I agree with Alice.

And I'll add that if people aren't already soliciting you, you'll be gone sooner than later.

You are on pace to be the dumbest person on this forum. Solicit you for what? Prostitution? My guess is the hookers won’t waste their time on someone whose commissions aren’t even paying their overhead.

19 clients all year is LOW, why do you think you’re on pace to make 100k?  … I’ve gotten 14 this month from knocking on doors and feel like I’m starving and suck.  (probably true on both counts)

You’re sales script, presentation, look,  whatever has gone off the reservation.  Get someone to sit in on your next apt. and critique you.   I’d get my ass on the phone / street and start “soliciting” people.
