I’m thinking about changing firms and cities.  I’ve been in the business about 2 years and am not making a great deal about 2k/month.  I’m afraid with what’s going on the market I’m not going to be able to grow my income much for the next 12 months.  Do you think I can get a base while I build my book anew in a different city.  I work in a small community in the midwest and am looking to go to Houston where I have some family and start over.  I really enjoy the business.

[/quote]   Ok...maybe it's just me...but I think the next two years will be the BEST time to grow your business/income!!!...At least thats how I feel.   A.  Everyone who went through this without hearing from there FA will be ready to jump ship.  B.  Everyone of the DIY'ers are down 50+ % and may realize they need help.  C.  Share prices are so low that the rich realize that this is a great time to put money back before the market shoots up again.   That being said...you can work for a bank and get a salary, as well as another firm and get one for a year or two while you build your book.  But, either way, to make it in this business you have to build a book that pays you more than $2k/month to be able to stick around in this biz!
