I'm a new FA with EDJ and don't have an office just yet so I was curious as to what some of you put on your business cards before you had your permanent branch location. Some people have recommended that I put the address of the other FA in town that already has an office but I'm not so sure I feel comfortable doing that. The only other option is to put down the address of the apartment I live in since I work out of my home but I'm afraid that if prospects realize I'm working out of my flat any credibility I had is down the toilet. Thanks in advance for any advice/opinions.

[/quote]   Why don't you feel comfortable putting the other FA address on your cards?  Do you actually think someone would "stop by" to talk to you when you're not there?  Or is it because your name isn't on the door and you're not the "head honcho" of the office?   If someone DID stop by (yeah, right), the BOA should say something to the effect of "He's not here.  We take care of his mail and messages, but he usually meets with his prospects at their offices or homes during the day."  There should NEVER be a mention that you're "new" and would they like to visit with the "senior" advisor on the premises.   But that's a code of honor that you need to be able to judge the other person and their staff by.   I wouldn't put down your apartment information either for the same reasons.

I know of one newbie that only put the city and state on their BC and left off the street address. The BCs are yours put whatever you like on them. I believe the only stipulation has to do with a po box on the card.

Well I was told multiple times that you have to put whatever address that you are registered with by the SEC. Which means you have to put your home address, unless your in a legacy. I ended up having to put my home address, until I got a legacy. One of the thing I found was noone really cares what the address is and noone is going to “just stop by” in the beginning. Most of the time noone even calls. But if they want to talk, they will call. Hell most of the prospects I got cards from have their home address on their cards. It really isn’t that big of a deal. I did it and it never was an issue…There are alot of people who work from home…

I always thought you had to have an address registered with your OSJ that you have your mail sent to, etc., and that would be the address you have to put on your biz card. I could be wrong.

BM, Jones gives you direction on this.  Once you go to Eval/Grad, you get your business cards, and they will have the address of the office you are registered with the SEC (which is your house).

I could be wrong, but I think you can get a PO Box and put that on there. I think I heard that, but I don’t remember.

I just went through Jones training...You can get a P.O. Box, but you are only supposed to use the address registered with the SEC. Which is your home....I had to do it

Wind is right on this.  It does not matter at ALL.

I just ordered a fresh 1,000 today. I’m in the process of an office move and only wanted to put my P.O. on the card.  Couldn’t do it…had to have the street address.
