Hi - I am making a major career change from a technical field to a financial advisor. I have been interviewing with a number of firms (Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan, Raymond James, Edward Jones, Baird and some different teams at the various firms). Obviously each firm has a bit of a different take, much of which I learn about during the interviews such as Edward Jones focuses on maximizing contacts and Merrill Lynch focuses on networking to high net worth - what do you recommend looking at besides the easy differences?

Secondly I am undecided if I should join a team or start solo. If I do join a team, what aspects do you recommend evaluating before signing up?

Thank you!
