I hear you. However the money was easy come until about June. From what my buddies tell me it's been a very slow summer. My fee based business is at a decent level for my AUM. I can pay the bills and support the family until things pick up. I will continue to operate at a 90% fee based mix.

Sounds good!  I agree, the numbers seem to say you’re doing more than fine…I’m not much farther along than you are and am slooowly making the transition to fee-based and agree it’s the way to go long term (both for the client and us).  But I have had many frustrations along the way and I admire your focus; I feel bad for people that come into the business and expect that they can support the wife (in most cases…) and two young kids on a newbie’s income…just hard to do from scracth or close to it.  They seem to be able to get just far enough in so that someone else benefits from their labor.

Cowboy - you are accurate in your observations!!!

EZ - if you are really able to pay the bills from fee based business, I would REALLLLY hang in their. You have worked to hard....and are almost there.
