Where you meet clients

Heres a quick question…

Where do advisors from different firms meet their clients?

do some firms prefer to meet clients in their home vs advisors office?

i think early on advisors are more apt to meet wherever the client dictates.  the further along we move, the more we push or AT LEAST ask to meet at our offices.  makes things much more efficient.  i have most meetings in my office now, but initially most all were at the clients home/business/restaurant/coffee shop.

I mostly meet clients in my office.  I mostly meet cold prospects at their place of business.  Warm prospects are split pretty equally between their place and my place.

Perhaps these days, we should be meeting them at the local bar.

I meet with clients almost exclusively in my office. The exception is 401k clients/prospects

It’s good to have the first appointment in the prospect’s home. For one thing, it solves the problem of people who don’t show up, although I have had appointments no-show at their own home. Plus you get to know them a little better and they are usually more at ease on their home turf. Sometimes I swear people won’t come to the office out of fear you’ll tie them up and make them sign away their money.

I’m right with ironhorse on this one; the more clients we have, the more efficient it is to have them meet at the office, and I think clients understand that. As a side note, I welcome evening and Saturday appointments; I know how it is to have a day job & how difficult it is to make appointments.

I ofrfer to meet at their home on a Thursday evening or a Saturday morning.  Other than that please come to me office.  House calls are great for dual income hpouseholds with kids.
