I'm presently with ING as an OSJ.  When I asked the head compliance guru to reschedule our monthly fon-cons for AFTER market close he asked me what kind of option/future risky biz wuz I running anyhow.  Anyway, Sigma looked good, Fusion Financial, LPL and some others.  Jeez, I'm crosseyed from readin their hype.  I'm in Houston and was contacted by a boutique BD called DH Hill.  CAlled me, sent me their package with no numbers in them of course.  I'm an IAR and want to manage my own portfolios for fees.  Any feedback in light of that on any of the aforementioned haircutters?  BTW, it's probably been close to two years since I've been on this site.

Look at LPL & RJF. Since you’re in Texas also look at SWS.

Two years when you joined in July 2005?!!

If you are fee-based, LPL appears to be one of the best.  RJ is also a strong player.  To be honest, those were the only two I did a due diligence trip on after countless people told me that they were the best.  I heard some positive comments about Commonwealth, but if I were you, I wouldn't waste your time looking any further down the list...those are the big dogs in the independent industry.
