Insurance Professional Seeking FA Position

As the title says, 10 year insurance (employee benefit/group medical) professional looking to expand in the FA arena.
If you had one chance to make the move over again, what B/D, wirehouse, or other would you go with?
Currently starting the process with ML, MSSB, Ameriprise, and Raymond James.
What ideas, tips, pieces of knowledge, etc. would you give a person in my shoes?

I would hope you have found your way into a B/D with good benefits, great incentive and passion for investments. If I may ask, why move from the strong insurance side into the FA side. I started at UBS in San Francisco. I have established my own RIA. Thinking to join a firm such as Mass Mutual. Any suggestions? I am a wealth management investment manager first
