Why isn't anyone working?

I've been in current position for about 3 months. I've had the chance to watch everyone, almost every day, do their "thing." All of the "new FA's" have huge hurdles to hit in this "program." Big #'s that we need to meet if we want to keep our job. I've also been able to hear from many "top producers," they all say the same thing: get on the god damned mother fucking phones. Yet, when I watch my peers, day in and day out, no one is doing jack shit. They call their girlfriends. They check in with their buddies. Maybe talk to Mom & Dad. They go to a bullshit meeting, they take a 1.5 hr lunch, then go to the gym. They go play golf, go to some sort of bullshit organization meeting (Habitat For Humanity, Free Masons, Civic Club, Church Group, etc. etc. - take your pic). They'll even bail out for a week to go on a vacation with Mom & Dad. So far, I haven't seen anyone have the ax fall on their head... which I guess is good, but WHY IN THE HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE NOT ON THE PHONE??? This place, in theory, should look like a scene out of the movie Boiler Room, with people dialing numbers until their hands bleed. They should be shitting in buckets because they are too afraid to waste the time it takes to drop a nice 45 minute shit. I mean, I don't get it!!! And when people call them out on it, which happens from time to time, they just get this dejected, defeated look on their face, like they know they are failing, big time, but can't really bring themselves to do anything about it. What in the hell is this?! For the life of me, I really don't understand it. One guy said it was his "goal" to make 35 PHONE CALLS a day... 35?! Try 200!!! It's really not that hard. Pick up phone, dial number, "I'm from XYZ Investments, I have some great things I'd like to speak with you about," Let whatever happens happen, then REPEAT 199 TIMES! Anyway, my rant is over. Can anyone tell me what is going on here???

Very typical, that is why 90% fail.

What firm are you at?

I have been thinking the same thing! There are 8 rookies in my office, and the floor is as quiet as a mouse, except for my 100-200 daily calls sticking out like a good fart in a library. I think alot of people take the job for the salary while they look for something else, not sure?

Instead of sitting and judging others why don’t you give us your stats?

How many calls do you make each and every day? What is your conversion ratio? How much money have you made? How far ahead are you of your goals? If you’re so great why are you concerned about others lack of activity? Why aren’t you just doing your own 200 dials a day and not paying attention to others? Please describe to us how your calls are going? How does it feel physically to make 200 dials a day 6 days a week?
