Maybe he'll finally change his allocation
I have this one client who has a 40/60 asset allocation with me. In the few years he's been with me his return after fees has been around 7% annually. I am managing a small portion of his overall portfolio. His overall allocation is about 10% equities 10%bonds and 80% cash. I've been recommending for a long while to increase his equities to atleast one third based on his risk tolerance.
Today he called me after the market closed and made the comment on how well "the market" is doing the last few days. I played into this and asked him "which market?" I explained to him with his allocation he should be paying most of his attention to the interest rate market and not the stock market. After a brief pause of consternation I think a light bulb went off and he agreed to see me next week.
I'll keep u posted.
