Hi Everyone:
A couple of weeks ago, I posted a question regarding EJ training. As I continue to do my due dilligence, I was wondering if any Ameriprise experts out there could answer the following questions: 1. Training: How does it differ from EJ? Do they let you spend 100% of your time studying for the 7 and 63? Do they provide a structured plan like EJ. 2. Office Culture: I drove over to a local office yesterday and saw what appears to be many reps in one location. Is this the case? 3. Building Business: They say there is no cold calling. I find this hard to believe. I know they have programs in place for leads generation, but to what extent? Is there smoke and mirrors going on here. Finally...and off subject.....is AG Edwards still a stand alone office structure or are all of their reps working inside Wachovia branches? Thanks again!May 14, 2008 9:27 pm

I appreciate the frankness. On the surface, EJ does look better, more organized and more of a family setting. I would be starting from scratch in my mid 40's and would need the support staff. BTW, is mid-40's for an age too old or right in the wheel house?May 14, 2008 9:31 pm
I think that’s a perfect age, assuming you have the finances to get into this industry (that’s often an age of kids, preparing to send off to college, etc.). I think as long as you have more than 10 years until you want to retire (so you can reap some rewards), this can be a good industry.
