Advice Please

I am a SA at a wirehouse who has been asked to take Series 7.  My colleague, also an Sa has also been asked to take test.....She however, "performs special duties for the manager" and therefore has been sent to a nearby big city for a weeks cram course.  I on the other hand, am about to get married and am un willing to provide extra service to anyone and therefore I have been told we can't afford to send oyu to cram course.  I am worried aobut the test adn a cram course would have done wonders for me.  Any thoughts?

Study ten times harder than you are now. Options and Munis are 60%+ of the test. Know them COLD then move on to the other sections. Make your mind believe you want this knowledge and know that it will make you vastly more marketable at a time when jobs are thin.

DO NOT LET YOURSELF FAIL, there are masses of others that want the job you currently have.

What do you mean that you are unwilling to provide special service to anyone.  It sounds to me like you are either not meeting job expectations or they are not treating you fairly.

Ask them directly, what special services this SA performs for the manager. If they don't give you a direct answer, go to HR and demand that you be sent to the cram course. If that doesnt work, sue them.

I never heard of such bullshit.

look everyone, special services is in "quotes" and Tony said she was getting marrried and therfore would not perform those "special services".

Without knowing who and where you are it is impossible for us to tell you anything besides what Gaddock said which is to study your ass off and post us a pic of it if it's nice. Also if you are good at your job then you probably already know 75% of the test anyway.

Hopefully there is someone there you know and trust to speak about this with.

I would say go to Kaplan online and get some videos. I studied for 2 1/2 weeks, took the cram course, and used the stuff they had online. They also have 3000+ questions that are helpful. You could get the online videos much cheaper than taking the cram course.

So...if you WEREN'T getting married, you'd be OK providing those "extra services" in exchange for job perks?

[/quote] do you know one that wouldn't
