Active vs Passive mutual funds

What are your guys thoughts about active vs passive mutual funds? Do you feel the greater growth potential in active funds are worth the higher expense ratio for the client? Just curious about other advisors opinions from someone who wants to do what is right for the client. Thanks in advance!
