15 business days to prep and pass Series 66?

15 business days… Not much time but…

But…? Is it plausible to get it done? So far in going over the U.S.A. I’m doing decently and I’m starting to have flashbacks from 2010 when I took and passed the 63. What freaks me out is reading all of the random posts about people who did great on the 7 but they failed on multiple attempts at the 66, especially since I didn’t pass the 7 by such a huge margin.

I’d say you can do it but it’d be pretty tight. You’d really need to focus your studying down to only what you don’t know and focus on trying to retain as much of it as possible. I know that sounds super vague but focus on your weakest areas and concentrate on them. It will mean more for you to hit those areas than anything else.

It is doable but how much time can you allocate to studying? Are you in an FA program where they are paying you to study or do you have other responsibilities at work? If you are being paid to study, almost three weeks, should be enough time. One of the biggest issues with the 66 is the required passing score, 75. 3 points higher for this exam, in my opinion, makes it more difficult to pass.

The good news is that I am being paid to study w/ no other “responsibilities” per-se although things occasionally come up. I just do not understand the 15 day study logic and this means that I also have to hit it hard on the weekends off of the clock which kind of sucks but I do not want to fail this exam. Also, they aren’t even putting me through the Pass Perfect one day webinar review oddly I feel like I’m being punished for not passing the 7 the first time because the few people that did out of the group were afforded the luxury of attending a review but me, I’m not so lucky…

I am not sure what your situation is, but some firms give you a fixed period to complete all of the required exams. It is only 15 days of the rest of your life. Just do it as if your job depends on it.

I understand that, cramming over 15 days isn’t the major issue to me it’s just I hate feeling rushed through important things like this because there is nothing worse than going into the actual exam feeling unprepared and with low confidence.

Take a bunch of practice exams until you can pass those with at least an 85. In my experience the practice exams were harder than the actual test. I’d say just get on it, and I mean every night.

What study materials are the best for 66? I have retake…missed by 4. Series 7 stuff, like Equity Indexed Annuities, tripped me out.

That is pretty much my plan, the only thing is I have a “study calendar” that the folks at the ivory tower monitor so basically this focuses me to spend a certain amount of time on each section before I can dive into the tests. The catch 22 is I learn by taking notes which is scrutinized but once I show them what they want to see I plan on jumping into the finals and taking as many as possible.

Got2pass while I haven’t made it to the material that is giving you a hard time yet I would suggest maybe googeling some of these aspects of the material if your study material isn’t doing the job for you. I cannot tell you how valuable Youtube was for me in understanding options strategies for the S7 exam.

Passed the 66 exactly 10 days after 7. It is definitely possible you just have to put in the hours, I studied 10 hours a day. I think it is an advantage to take it soon after the 7 as a lot of information overlaps. For instance I did not even read the last two chapters of the study material as they were heavily based on info from the 7.

Why is everyone have such a hard on for TC stuff. I mean it’s like everyone is getting a commission. Been using Kaplan and questions are hard as hell. Am I screwed? Test in 2 weeks
