Answering Phones

May 19, 2009 2:46 am

Whatever broker dealer I choose is it true that I have to answer the phones with that broker dealer in the greeting?

May 19, 2009 12:23 pm

Are you serious?  Why not ask the B/D’s you’re interviewing?

Just answer it as Meriill Lynch, how about AIG or maybe even Bear Stearns…here is a script:

Its a great day at Bear Stearns, how may I direct your call?

Well thank you for all of the great post.  Yes one of the broker dealers did say I had to mention their firm after mine which was the first time I had ever heard of that.  I thought you guys would know but apparently not.

  Thanks d***s!

Answering phones is for secretaries, vagina.

There's a man with a sense of humor and a thick skin.

Why would we know what your B/D is going to make you do?  If your B/D says that you have to wipe yourself with your left hand, you have to use your left hand.   That B/D may make you answer the phone with their name.  They will let a big producer answer anyway that he wants.   The bottom line is that you have to do whatever they tell you that you have to do.  What you have to do today is different from what you have to do tomorrow.  Even when you do exactly what they tell you to do, you will still break some rule and get in trouble for it.  Every rule is designed as a CYA.  The "A" that is being covered is that of the B/D and not yours.   By the way, if you follow the rules, you greatly diminish your chance for success.

Aside from asking yet another of your patented stupendously ignorant and trivial questions that could easily be answered by simply asking your b/d, would you make up your mind about what your “story” is, Bi?

First you were doing your unique brand of due diligence (asking stupid questions here) for leaving a wirehouse, then you’re complaining about your new b/d’s requirements for opening accounts and how quickly you can trade, and now you’re back to asking about "whatever b/d I choose."

Get your story straight, troll.

Morphius you are so far off it’s not even funny.  I have all the answers I need and I got zero from this forum.  The last two post I made had some seriously stupid answers.  I’m going to stop using this forum.  I thought it was good at first because I didn’t know any better.

  FO
In my limited life experience this almost always means "you are very close". It is the written equivalent of the open-mouthed, wide-eyed look on one's face when you have been caught doing something you shouldn't. ------>

whats you your ttm, aum prouction
Told you he'd be back.  And with even more spelling and grammar errors than before.   I'll take a crack at this SellHigh.  You are not asking questions that require experience to answer.  You are asking questions that are mundane and can be easily answered with your own research.  You are also asking this particular question of RIA's and Independents when you are talking about working for a wire.
