Seems like telling strangers what I do would be easy, BUT
I'm six months in... doing fine. Oddly enough, the thing I have the biggest problem with is how to interject what I do when talking to strangers in a non-business environment, like at a party, in the grocery store, etc.
"Hey, how about those (insert sports team)! Oh, by the way, if you have any money exposed to this stock market, we should talk!" Nah... doesn't flow.
This should be easy, but I can't find the right line that fits and doesn't sound hokey!
Any ideas?
There is no easy way. Unfortunately, it all sounds bad. Either make a personal decision to prospect all the time or only in business environments. Personally, I choose to say " I work in finance management" while I am in non-business environments. If someone acts interested I tell them to give me their number and we can talk at a better time, nothing can be completed here, let's get back to <whatever the event is>.
