Best Prospecting Idea of 2010

What has been your best prospecting idea so far this year?  Mine has been holding seminars about retirement planning.  Lots of lost souls out there looking for help.

How have you marketed the seminars?  How many people are you getting to come?

I know I shouldn't be this skeptical, but why do I think a seminar service is about to be pushed?

I don't think that's JumpMan.  I've seen his other posts.  Not a seminar vendor (unless he really has me duped).

Good point.  Sorry to drag on the thread.

Just trying to get and share some ideas.  Guess there is not alot of prospecting going on out there.

B - I do mailers. 2000-3000 per seminar.  Excellent turn rate.

JumpMAN

What part of the country are you in? Also, big city, small town? etc?

Do you use a prepackaged seminar or did you put your own together? Whats the format of the event? Dinner? Lunch? Neither?

Take questions afterward? Have your assisstant work it with you?How do you qualify? do you try to set appointments at the seminar or on follow up calls afterward? Appreciate your posting good ideas

Really?  I have done these type of mailers in the past, and my capture rate is really low.  Are you doing letters, postcards, making calls, etc?

Small client events where they bring a friend.  Also, small seminars in a meeting room where it is obvious there will not be a meal.  You will have a smaller crowd, but they will be people that are interested.
