Book by Wall Street insider, The Bottom of the Sky

This is worth repeating. You want to know about how to train, build a book, and succeed? And what NOT to do? What honor in our inditry is! Holy smokes!! I just read a 2009 book, a fiction novel, by a guy who dropped out of high school, trained with Merrill, and ended up becoming one of the top 25 EVP/Divisional Directors of what is now Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s retail side. He made millions. Served at the NASD too, until 2003.) He quit the firm in 2000 at 43, took the SATs (with a GED!), and got into Stanford, graduating Phi Beta Kappa (Stanford’s version of Suma Cum Laude)as an archaeologist in three years. Very smart guy. And very frank. You want an board room view of the retail side of the industry? Want ot know how the people who manage your manager deal? Check out the August 2009 Forbes video on this guy. It’s on You Tube. Just type into their search engine “Forbes Finance to Fiction Bill Pack”. His novel is a current Pulitzer entrant. It’s also beautiful, raw as he##, and exhasting. Best I’ve read in a while. But this guy cuts through all the fluff and depicts the industry, and retail sales, as realistically as it gets. The book is called The Bottom of the Sky.
