U-5

I have been working as an independent advisor for the past 4 years and before that I had been with Edward Jones. Edward Jones had terminated me after 2 years for failing to make enough commission.  I am looking at a FA position where I am an administrator but will still be required to keep my licenses up. What information about the Ed Jones experience will be on my U-5? <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Factual data only (probably), like location, time in position, immediate supervisor (maybe), etc.  It is doubtful that there would be any “commentary” about your performance with them.

It’s not like you were terminated for FRAUD, or any securities violation.  You just didn’t sell enough.  Correction:  you didn’t help enough people in bigger ways.

If you’re going to an administrative position, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Look it up- Go to the NASD Website and click on Broker Check.

What you see there is what anyone of the general public can see.

It should only state your employment at Jones for two years, but note it may state termination 'Involuntary'. But, as DHK said, if you are going to an Admin job, not to worry.
