BrokerCheck and Not Registered

I am posting this here, as I hope Bill may know the answer…

  After dropping a 7, how long does a person's name remain on brokercheck. I have heard two years, but I have also seen names of fired reps drop off after a few months.   In my area, someone is putting on a campaign to check brokercheck. I have already received a few calls on why I am "not registered".   Explaining the differnce between IA and Rep is not a problem, but I am wondering about potential clients thinking I am not licencsed.   Thanks for any input
