Who has the better job?

Who do you think has the better job? The financial advisor or the wholesaler?? What do you think the future holds for either of them??

The wholesaler.  Regardless of how the landscape changes for the financial advisor the wholesaler always has distribution channels and only has to keep the advisor up to date on the investment of the day.  The financial advisor has to keep up to date on any legal ruling that affects the dealings with their client and then must act accordingly.  Further, the wholesaler has less prospecting to do.  They just have to keep the producers informed and happy and they get paid off of your (and several others) production.  The advisor still has to prospect his tail off and get a check from the prospect/client.

I couldn't disagree more. I wouldn't be a wholesaler for love or money. They seem to constantly be jerked round by their companies, they spend forever on the road and they have to prospect like crazy to US. What a horrible life that must be

Sales vs Advisor.  I love sales, and I love advising.  In
sales, we get the rush, the fun, the “high five” of a sale.  We
also get the personal aspect of the business.  SUPPLYING PRODUCTS,
COOL, BUT NOT A CAREER FOR ME.

Easily the FA.  It aint even close.

I wouldn't say a wholesalers life is horrible but it isn't near what you can experience s a successful broker.  Not even in the same league.

Totally agree with you Zacko....I wouldn't want to be a wholesaler having to live on the road all the time, putting up with BS from piker brokers, and doing dinner seminars 3-4 nights a week.  No thanks...would rather deal with a variety of products and be able to switch from one product line to another when I feel it's in the best interest of my clients.

There’s no loyalty in wholesaling - at least as an advisor, your client base is somewhat reliable.
