Virus and Worm Attacks

Every time I come on these boards, I'm alerted to numerous virus and worm attacks on my computer. Anyone else getting this many hits on their computer, when visiting these boards?

No. But then I have 3 layers of firewalls and a couple of spam block programs going in the background plus 2 different virus programs running.   Anal??  Yes.  Safe…priceless.

Well I am into high end and on line gaming when I'm not working.  My computers have very fast processors with high cache, at least 1 gig ram, great sound cards and speakers for background music at the office and game sound quality, fast video cards with lots of memory, so they can handle many programs running in the background. I spent over 3k on my gaming computer and I already want an upgrade. I have high speed DSL at home and at work.  I know.... my vice and money sink.

Since I'm on line a lot with both work and play computers I run downlaod virus definitions and virus scans every day, delete the spambots twice daily (noon and at the end of the day), back up my hard drives once a week on Saturday when I'm doing paperwork and back up my customer contact program and client notes and files on a separate back up DVD daily.  In addition to the firewall in the virus program, the XP operating system, my modem and router for wireless networks also have firewalls.   You know the raincoat and umbrella theory.  Never too much protection.  And like my cars , never enough speed or power.

I have never had a virus......knock wood.
