Transferring managed accounts from wf

someone told me that to transfer a managed account from wells fargo the client will have to personally call the fc and “break the management relationship.”  is there any truth to this or has anyone heard of this, or can you simply use your regular acat/transfer paperwork?  if this is true, what exactly needs to be done by the client?  thanks for input.
