Hillary Clinton: "I’m in for 2008"

Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton launched her run for the White

House Saturday by setting up an exploratory committee to test opinions and

raise money. “I’m in. And I’m in to win,” she wrote on her Web site. “I believe

that together we can bring the leadership that this country needs.” Her move

came days after Sen. Barack Obama began his run.

Is there any chance that we can let Sirhan Sirhan out of prison?

  Good one!

Well maybe we’ll be lucky and the Dems will be stupid enough to beat up on each other so much that none of them can win…

Jan 20, 2007 9:39 pm

Seems like the Dems are going with a minority theme this year.

Having gown up in Al Gore's home state (which he couldn't even carry), I don't think Barack has a snowball's chance, and Hillary only slightly better.

I seriously doubt that even minorities in the bible belt will vote for someone who took their oath on the Koran.

Jan 20, 2007 9:59 pm

Hillary is a joke, and Barack Hussein Obama is even a bigger joke. America will never elect a black president especially Barack Hussein Obama.

I don't know if I would go that far to say NEVER but I don't think now is the time for a muslim president, regardless of race.

Jan 20, 2007 10:56 pm

Hillary's got the win as far as the D's go. The question is whether the GOP can come up with anyone other than McCain who "might" have a chance of beating her.

I wish to hell I could persuade Arlen Specter to run.

Rudy G could beat Hillary, but he isn't rightwing enough for the GOP. This is going to be so pathetic if Hillary wins.

Jan 21, 2007 7:23 am

Rudy’s got too much penny stock “baggage” and the Deep South won’t vote for a born and reared in NYC Italian Catholic. The Deep South votes WASP, preferably from the South or Midwest. You have to carry the Deep South to win.

Specter is well respected by those who believe that King George is still alive and well.  To all others, he and his supporters are regarded as a joke.

Obama is not a muslim

I guess that depends on which publication you read.  4 years in a muslim school may not make you a muslim but seems a little fishy.

Jan 21, 2007 8:45 pm

There is no way Hilary is going to win the whole race.  She might be the Dems number one but I don’t see her getting sworn in at all.

One of the worst kept secrets in politics
Took her less than 3 weeks into her second term to announce

My only prediction is that it will get very ugly before both parties primaries are over

I think it will be mudslinging all the way on both sides of the fence which is most unfortunate since it's US (the American people) who pay the price in the end.

Mitt Romney…

Looks like the Dems have to vote for someone they don’t like again.

Amazes me that many Dems in New England state, "Dems have the smart and educated voters in the cities, west coast and New England."

The reality is you take out millions of uninformed voters from the inner cities and they would have nothing. Even the most liberal states give 35-45% to the Republicans. The cities like NYC and DC give 80+% to the Dems.

Mitt and Steal. Special assistant Newt! Then of course me to provide feedback on everything else.

Jan 22, 2007 1:33 pm

Barack Hussein Obama… Sounds Christian to me.

Jan 22, 2007 1:40 pm

One would wonder why, if the Democrats want a candidate that might

appeal to moderate Republicans, they don’t look to Rep. Ford of Tennessee?

Jan 22, 2007 2:22 pm
Barack Hussein Obama... Sounds Christian to me.
Actually, his father, a "part time" Muslim, was out of the household when Obama was just two years old.

I like Obama..for 2012, not 2008.

Peace to all as Syria holds the answer to much of the region's problems.

Former Governor Mark Warner of VA—now that’s a guy who appeals to middle of the road GOP types.

Actually, that's incorrect. The four years were divided between Muslim and Catholic schools. His Mother, who raised him, was not Muslim.

He couldn't the Senate election (lost to Bob Corker), so what makes you think he could be President.  His family has too much baggage with all the political scandals (Tennessee Waltz, aunt thrown out of state congress, etc).  Plus he is just a little too slick for my taste.

But the republicans have a pretty good candidiate in Tennessee in Bill Frist.

Jan 22, 2007 3:23 pm

Hillary - who is on board with this 'global warming' scam will sign the Kyoto protocol - which will help line the pockets of her constituents.  This would potentially be the single, largest economic destruction of our time (other than her Hillary-care initiative).

"I'm in to win" means that, "I'm in to cash in the freezer"
One would wonder why, if the Democrats want a candidate that might

He does have a very strong minority following but most Republicans in TN would never vote for him because of all those scandals, his father, his uncle, his aunt, cousins, etc.. The family owns a lot of businesses in Memphis, the most prominent being a chain of funeral homes.  The family passed a law saying that if someone died a ward of the state they had to be sent to their funeral home.  Then they charged the state exhorborant burial costs.

Harold Ford Jr. is the most respectable of the bunch but being the least rotten apple is not something to brag about.

If the U.S. signs, would we not then engage in carbon credit trading? Energy trading is becoming almost a distinct asset allocation class. Not sure joining the game would be a disaster, as alternative technologies are currently subject to commodity war pricing by the lowest cost producers (Middle east). If ever there was an area to interfere and command economy in the free markets, it might be one where the consumers are currently holding the fewest cards.

Plenty of greedy constituants to help even out the corruption. You can't make something from nothing, what will be handed out to her constituants that the free market can't regulate?

I don't think she has Bill's brains or "charisma".

Lets not forget NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
He will be forced out by term limits and since his net worth is estimated to be over 5 billion, he can finance his campaign himself.

Hillary is a bag. Anyone who wants a lifetime politician should be shot.

MITT ROMNEY is the solution. Screw religion, but he does like god. He was the CEO for Bain. Saved the UTAH olympics and was the governor of Mass. The man knows how to manage and lead, cut taxes and waste. Throw out the war and what is the problem with this country? Piss poor planing for the future.

Energy… No nukes or government pressure to truthfully produce cars that get higher MPG. THe mpg scale is fixed and up to 25% off per car.

Military… 1990’s dems did everything to get rid of our intel and cut down on troops.

Ethics and politics… Both parties in the 90s wrote blank checks to the house bank. Both have lobbyiests and fringe groups donating and bribing. President getting blow job in the oval office after numerous affairs.

Government waste… If government assistance leads to waste so does earmarks/pork, governmnent employees and some of these pathetic programs.

Who ever wins I pray it is not a lawyer or politician. We need change and maybe a cut in the executive pensions.

Jan 24, 2007 4:52 pm

AirForce - you are right on!!  It's refreshing to hear a resonable person communicate on this forum.  Presidents do not typically come from the Senate - usually it's a Governor, or someone who knows how to manage a big company.  Senators do not know how to manage P&L.  Help me out - who was the last Senator who was elected president?  It may have been Kennedy.

Anyway - this thing is turning into a popularity contest and people will vote for Hillary, even though she has not accomplished anything in her 6 years in the Senate.  Lord help us all if she gets behind the wheel of this car.

LBJ, and then Richard Nixon.
