Have I missed anything?

Aug 7, 2007 8:17 pm

Too busy bringing in assets and generating revenue.  August has been a great month.

Anyway, have I missed anything?  Just asking the pros like Joe, Dust, and Blarm what I need to catch up on.

Yes, I joined, quit, and rejoined, I am a big fan of Bobby Hull, Ferris Bueller, and Dust Bunny, we chased away a bank broker who was lying, and there's still no moderator on here.........

Other than that, same old, same old.........

Aug 7, 2007 9:36 pm

We had a forum troll by the name of goforbroke/parachute/flamingo/fighnancy here for a while.  Tracked it down and made it leave.

I called GEICO yesterday and saved 15% on my car insurance… It was wonderful…

maybe, maybe not

You know what DOB- that’s not cool. I feel as if I have put up a great front on this forum and for you to out me on this matter is just… plain… rude… Joe and I are NOT pleased…

Aug 8, 2007 2:09 pm

Oh well, that is a relief.

Is Put Trader here anywhere?

This market leads to just buying QUALITY.  Blue chips and yes muni bonds.  Be careful you rookies.  Now is not the time to dip your toes into anything risky.

But Cramer told me to buy technology.

Every portfolio should be diversified among asset classes and sectors.  There is nothing wrong with tech, and there are some great mutual funds out there with great managers.

but it should be a slice of the portfolio and not the whole thing.

Where is that classy lady Babbling Looney?

Apparently he's now in purgatory, listed as "guests".

I think we're seeing a somewhat inept effort at moderation.  Any effort, though, is far better than what we've had of late.

So you're looking to take the easy way out.

Everyone called Ferris Bueller out on a big lie.

See that's why you're only an intern at ML, chicagoboy.  Details in this business is what will make you a success. A typo isn't a lie.  Go read the thread over again.

Closer took the job at Merrill? I thought he was getting the rubber hose treatment at some insurance based house.

1.  I thought when Cramer said buy that meant I should buy with 100% of my maxed out margin account.

2.  Babbling Looney = Dust Bunny

1 - STFU is obviously Ferris.
2 - Why did you delete Ferris?
3 - Either taking ML or MS don't know yet.
4 - So if details is what makes you a success HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY be successful if you write an 8 instead of a 7?
Aug 8, 2007 8:38 pm

1. Duh

2. I didn't

3. Choose ML

4. I type over 80WPM and the 7 and 8 are right next to each other.

Aug 8, 2007 8:40 pm

and this stupid forum doesn’t have an EDIT feature!!

Aug 8, 2007 8:45 pm

Yes, this forum's software is severely lacking, IMO

Aug 8, 2007 8:58 pm

STFU, Baller, and Ferris are all the same person? Wow, I should probably make a couple aliases as well.

Both are offering me dirt salary, because I’m out of college and didn’t make anything on my 2006 W2. I guess it’s the only way to go tho.

Chicago ML over MS? Why.

Aug 8, 2007 9:04 pm

aliases help when a trigger happy moderator comes back from hibernation :)

ML period has a better program and name.  MS has been hammered lately in the news.

Aug 8, 2007 9:25 pm

Go with the branch you like better.

All things equal, though, ML would be a better way to go.  However the goals for production are much harder than MS.

Ok, Ok, I outed you and Joe, so I'll admit something personal about myself. I'm a polygamist with four 23 year-old, ex-playboy model wives.

There, now we're even.

New to this forum. Is there no monitor here? Why the aliases?

Dude, there is a 'search' function.  It is your friend.  Do your homework.  Stop expecting others to do your dirty work.

No wonder alot of us are skeptical in your ability to survive at a wirehouse.

Yes siree.  This is very important.  As a trainee, the Branch Manager can make you or break you.  Line up with someone who believes in Asset Allocation and Fee Based business.

It doesn't hurt if the branch is closest to where you live because trainees put in long hours.

Good luck.

Thanks Mabyeeeee.   I am now Dust Bunny due to losing my password and the forum moderator's appreantly being dead and unable to send me a new one.

Just got back from 4 days in Reno for Hot August Nights.   Will share some pictures of hot rods later    Checking up on emails, messages, and getting ready to buy some steaks for the BBQ

Aug 9, 2007 11:24 pm

oh.  Well that is a relief.  I can only imagine how hot it was.

Honestly, I haven't been here because they really need some type of active forum monitoring.

In the old days you used to be able to get some good information here.

. . . and I still have a crush on Joe
